It has been awhile since I have done this five minute number. Teensy bit nervous as I have not been singing as much lately. I initially created it for the Invisible Theater in 2004 (I think), then since have performed it in a variety of venues. The Golden Theater in San Diego which had a vaudeville style show in the summer of 2005… at Soapbox in Encino at least once… It is a fun number with a worthwhile point about getting involved in the world that we live in. Between the costume and the lyrics it works well with an audience.
I wrote lyrics and the melody line… notated it all out with chords above the notes, then the remarkable Curtis Rhodes played it beautifully on the piano for me. (He has written a couple of marvelous musicals – A Proper Place is the most recent).
